AA History: Sister Ignatia

This one is not an AA meeting but instead a speak by, Sister Ignatia the nun that worked with alcoholics in the early days of AA.

Clarence S sober since 1938 speaking about the steps at an unknown event. This runs just under 2.5 hours and there are questions and answers toward the end.

The recording was in two pieces that I joined into one file, there is a bit of time missing between the two files. I put a bit of clicking in the spot where they were joined to identify the missing audio.

Sybil C from Los Angeles sober in 1941 speaking approx 2001. She is a very funny lady, this is a really great speak.

Workshop: 12 Traditions of AA

12 Traditions workshop held at Central Orlando in the summer of 2012. This is a bit under 3 hours long and the last 20 min or so is a recording of Bill W talking about the traditions. I cleaned the audio as much as possible.

It features multiple people making presentations and some Q and A as well, a fairly informal format.

Alexis K. conducting a 12 Concepts Workshop in Plymouth UK (4/2006). He does a great job of presenting an overview of how they came about and what they are intended to do.

The Q/A portion of this audio was removed before I got it, so it is only the presentation portion of the workshop.

Nell Wing: Bill Ws 2nd secretary and AAs 1st Archivist

This is not a speaker meeting, it is a speak by Nell Wing who was Bill Ws second secretary and AAs first archivist.

At the time of this speak AA was almost 60 and Nell began working for AA when it was almost 12. This was recorded in Phoenix AZ in 1994.

 

Marty M author of the chapter - Women Suffer Too

Marty M author of the chapter - Women Suffer Too, sober in 1940, she is one of the first female members of AA and was the first lesbian member of AA. This is her last talk given in 1960, she passed away in 1980.

I had to do much processing to this audio file to remove heavy background noise, as a result the voice is much cleaner, however that type of processing makes the applause sound like a jet flying overhead, there were a couple of places the applause was sustained, I shortened those applause sections.
