This is a repost of one of the first speakers we featured here on Sober Cast, I heard Patti speak live at a local meeting on a Saturday night and really loved her message of hope mixed with a great sense of humor. So I went searching and found this recording of her from a few years earlier. Repost from May of 2017

Sandy B and Bob B lead this workshop on the topic of: There Is a Solution. I have no information about this workshop other than it was recorded in 2004. Sandy B is a very well known speaker in AA and did speaks and led workshops all over the world for many years. There is some Q & A toward the end and it is impossible to hear the questions, I removed the dead gaps of the questions so they jump right to answers, you can pretty much understand the question by the answer.
About once a year I get an email asking me why in the podcast opening do I say that this "Is a podcast for men". I just got another and thought I might try to put this to rest, I am NOT saying that, I am saying "In a podcast format". When I listen to it nothing about it sounds like Im saying "for men" rather than "format" but apparently some of you hear "for men" I assure you the word is format!

I was looking for an Al-Anon meeting and came across this meeting from December of 1978, it is an AA speaker and then an Al-Anon speaker recorded somewhere in Portland Oregon. It opens with the AA speaker Elle telling her story, then we have Donna telling her Al-Anon story, it turns out she is a triple hitter being an Al-Anon, AA and NA member!

Julie L from Studio City (originally from Ireland) is the main speaker at a Southern California speaker meeting held by an unknown group in May of 2016. She is a good speaker and a very funny lady (LGBTQ). Repost from 2019.
I spent a good chunk of the last week learning and tweaking the new event software I purchased for the website (Thank you so much to those of you that have donated to Sober Cast, you made that possible). I also edited the form for submitting an event to be a bit more robust, there's a bit of tweaking to do but I'm mostly there.
You can now search for AA events by date or location and automatically save an event to your calendar with one click, plus one click to download the event flyer to take to your homegroup. Tom I got sober in 1957 and leads this meeting from 2001 on the topic of Working With Others. I have no idea where event this was recorded, or what the event was. I really enjoy listening to this guy, hes one I tend to forget about and Im going to try to post more from him.

Pappy B was a member of the Flying Tigers, he was awarded of the Congressional Medal of Honor and he unfortunately got to experience detoxing in a Japanese POW camp after being shot down during WWII, he spent 20 months there. He is telling his story in San Francisco in Oct of 1958 at an unknown event. His WWII story was also made into a TV show back in the 70's. Repost from early 2020.
This recording has a harsher tone to it as many older recordings do, I was able to get the background hum out but then again... 1958.

This is an interesting speak by Chris S, he goes through Bills Story in the Big Book to a great degree line by line. He also contrasts it from earlier versions that never made it into the published version of the big book. I dont know exactly where or when this was recorded other than it was a Founders Day Tribute held sometime in 2013.
