How it works read by Bill W. I have wanted to put this up for a while and had not really found a place for it, xmas seems like a good day and time to let it stand on its own, I hope you have a very nice holiday. (I posted this last year on xmas and I think that's going to happen every year)

Dr Bob co-founder of AA speaking about his first 14 years (Repost)
Monday Dec 09, 2019
Monday Dec 09, 2019
Since we had Bill W speaking yesterday it seems appropriate to have Dr Bob the other founder of AA speak today. He is telling his story about his first 14 years in AA, this was recorded in 1949. The end if this speak (about 6 min) is a bit of Dr Bobs last talk in 1950. (Repost)
There are no where near as many recordings of Dr Bob as there are of Bill W and the ones that are around are generally fairly bad, this one had a nasty hum, but it cleaned up really well and is one of the best I have heard of Dr Bob.

Jim B got to AA in Jan of 1938 - Great bit of eyewitness AA history
Friday Dec 06, 2019
Friday Dec 06, 2019
Jim B from San Diego CA got to AA in Jan of 1938 and he is speaking at an unknown event in June of 1957, this is a great talk with a lot of AA history and a bit of his story. This recording had a really nasty hum I was able to remove, but as you might guess its not the best quality being from 1957 that being said its listenable and I think worth the slightly harsh sound.

This is a workshop led by Jim K (he got sober in 1980 at 17 years old) he leads a workshop from WACYPAA15 held in Las Vegas from 2012 on the topic of The Sermon On The Mount, a book written by Emmet Fox and first published in 1935. It is one of the books used by folks in the earliest days of AA before the Big Book was written. Repost
There is some Q & A at the back end of this workshop, some of the comments are difficult to hear...fyi

This is a pretty good quality recording of AA founder Bill W, he tells his story at an unknown event held in Toronto in 1965. This had a pretty bad hum, I was able to remove but it does have a very slight echo, he was speaking in a pretty big space.

AA History: The Four Absolutes
Thursday Jul 25, 2019
Thursday Jul 25, 2019
This episode of Sober Cast is a bit of AA history, if you need to hear a meeting please pick a different episode, this is more accurately described as a bit of AA spoken history, a 1962 recording of Gene C who was 40 years sober at the time. He is speaking about the topic I dont hear much about anymore, the “Four Absolutes” of Alcoholics Anonymous.
The four absolutes were considered yardsticks in earliest days of the recovery program and come from the Oxford Group. If you would like to learn a bit more about them this is a good starting point (http://silkworth.net/pages/aahistory/fourabsolutes1.php).
