AA founder Bill W speaking on the topic of the 12 traditions, this audio is from a film that was intended to be shown in AA meetings, the audio quality is some of the best I have found of Bill W.

Multiple Speakers: Sue A then John K

Sue A of South Bend speaking at the 3rd Chicago Intergroup convention in March of 1963. She is followed By John K for the balance of the meeting, this is a pretty excellent recording for 1963, it does end a little abruptly.

Workshop: The Twelve Traditions (3 hours)

David A from Dallas TX became sober in 1967 and is conducting this 3 hour long workshop on The Twelve Traditions of AA, in Little Rock AR in 1984 at an unknown event. There is some brief Q&A at the end, you cant hear the questions but the answers make them evident.

 

Dr Bob co-founder of AA speaking about his first 14 years.

Since we had Bill W speaking yesterday it seems appropriate to have Dr Bob the other founder of AA speak today. He is telling his story about his first 14 years in AA, this was recorded in 1949. The end if this speak (about 6 min) is a bit of Dr Bobs last talk in 1950.

There are no where near as many recordings of Dr Bob as there are of Bill W and the ones that are around are generally fairly bad, this one had a nasty hum, but it cleaned up really well and is one of the best I have heard of Dr Bob.

Bill W speaks about the Big Book

Bill W one of the co-founders of AA speaks about the Big Book. This consists of two seperate speaks, the first is at the 30th anniversary founders day in Acron.

The second speak may be from the same event but there is no way to know, the introduction of Bill the 2nd time does mention the 30th anniversary.

James Houck sober 60 years as a member of the Oxford group

James Houck is the speaker, at the time of this recording in 1996 he had been sober 60 years, getting sober in 1934. He is not a member of AA but is a member of the Oxford group. He is speaking as a guest of AA at this particular meeting, and presents a very interesting perspective on the early days and formation of AA.
