Tuesday Jan 05, 2021
This is Dr Bob the co-founder of AA telling the story about his first 14 years in AA. It was really interesting listening to him talk about that "notorious trip to Atlantic City" and the importance of service. This was recorded in 1949, the end if this speak (about the last 6 min) is a bit of Dr Bobs last talk in 1950. Repost from 2018.
There are no where near as many recordings of Dr Bob as there are of Bill W and the ones that are around are generally fairly bad, this one had a nasty hum, but it cleaned up really well and is one of the best I have heard of Dr Bob.

Sackvilel M from Dublin Ireland got sober in 1947 and passed away 1979. He was the author of the story in the big book called "The Career Officer". At the time of this speak held in Huston Texas at an unknown time he was sober just over 9 years. He tells his own story and the story of how AA started in Ireland, he was its 6th member. Good quality for an early recording.

Jack B. (sober in 1947) from Shennarock NY speaking in Toronto Ontario Canada on April 1st 1973. One of his past jobs was as a wheel-man for the mob, hes got quite a story and he tells it in a way that might make you laugh a bit. This ends abruptly as he is thanking the audience.

Wednesday Nov 11, 2020
Wednesday Nov 11, 2020
Marty M from NYC was the first woman in AA, her story is printed in the (2nd Ed.) Big Book under the title of, Women Suffer Too. Marty was speaking at the 16th Southeast Conference held in Louisville Ky in 1966 (great quality recording).
Marty got sober in March of 1939 and passed away in July of 1980, if you would like to learn a bit more about her - Wikipedia
She also wrote a number of books about alcoholism, most are out of print but some used copies are available (I really like her descriptive titles).

AA History: Ebby T the man that made the call to Bill W
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
Ebby T is the man Bill W referred to as his sponsor, he is also the man that introduced Bill to the Oxford group, eventually leading to the formation of AA. Ebby had a tumultuous path in sobriety, regardless he remained a lifelong friend of Bill W. He tells some of the story about the formation of AA.
If you have any interest there is a pretty good book about him: "Ebby: The Man Who Sponsored Bill W." It is available HERE
He is followed by Icky S another early member of AA. This was recorded in Kansas City in 1960 and for an old recording its very good. I did make a couple of small edits, I pulled the volume way down on the applause because it was painfully harsh and cut the length of some it as well.

After introductions Bill Wilson tells his story (as told in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous) with new insights, speaks on meeting AA Cofounder Dr. Bob S.(The Dr’s Nightmare), Dr. William Silkworth (The Dr.’s Opinion), the founding of AA in Akron OH, The writing of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, and a Humorous recounting of the Rockefeller’s Foundation Dinner that brought AA into the public eye, launching AA’s Growth.

Marty M author of the chapter - Women Suffer Too (Repost)

Marty M author of the chapter - Women Suffer Too, sober in 1940, she is one of the first female members of AA and was the first lesbian member of AA. This is her last talk given in 1960, she passed away in 1980.
I had to do much processing to this audio file to remove heavy background noise, as a result the voice is much cleaner, however that type of processing makes the applause sound like a jet flying overhead, there were a couple of places the applause was sustained, I shortened those applause sections.
