AA History: The Four Absolutes

This episode of Sober Cast is a bit of AA history, if you need to hear a meeting please pick a different episode, this is more accurately described as a bit of AA spoken history, a 1962 recording of Gene C who was 40 years sober at the time. He is speaking about the topic I dont hear much about anymore, the “Four Absolutes” of Alcoholics Anonymous.

The four absolutes were considered yardsticks in earliest days of the recovery program and come from the Oxford Group. If you would like to learn a bit more about them this is a good starting point (http://silkworth.net/pages/aahistory/fourabsolutes1.php)

As the saying goes, "take what you need, and leave the rest".
